Botox®

What is Botulinum Toxin?
Botulinum toxin, or more commonly referred to as Botox® is a neurotoxin usually used medically to treat specific muscle conditions. Cosmetically, it is often used to remove wrinkles by temporarily relaxing facial muscles.

The brands we use are FDA approved and are used for both medical and cosmetic purposes worldwide. It has been used in the NHS in much larger doses than that used for cosmetic purposes for years and is considered to be very safe. Like most cosmetic treatments, side effects can occur. Precautions are taken from consultation through to treatment to reduce the risk and impact of possible side effects. The good news is that side effects are temporary. The most common of these being redness and bruising which will fade in time. To reduce the risk of complication and to get the maximum benefit from your treatment, it is important that you follow all aftercare advice and complete your medical questionnaire accurately. Ask your practitioner what measures they have in place to deal with emergencies should one occur.

Areas we commonly treat with botulinum toxin include:
Crows feet
Frown lines
Forehead lines
Bruxism (grinding teeth)
Hyperhidrosis
Bunny lines
Gummy smile

What happens after treatment?
Make sure you follow the aftercare advice given to you following a Botox treatment. This will help you to get the most from your treatment and avoid possible side effects. Before you leave the clinic at the end of your treatment, we will book you in for a free check-up 2 weeks later, so that we can review the results of your treatment once it has taken full effect. We can also book your next appointment in 3-4 months times to ensure you maintain your new look!

Dermal Filler

What is dermal filler?
Dermal filler is a gel that is injected below the surface of the skin. It is used to smooth lines and wrinkles, restore lost volume associated with age or environmental factors such as smoking or sun damage.

Dermal fillers can also be used to enhance lip volume and shape, define cheeks, sculpt the jawline, reshape the chin and nose. Under eye hollows can be filled as can the lines on the upper lip (smokers lines), folds between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds) and the mouth to chin lines (marionette lines). Dermal filler provides instant improvement.

What type of filler do you use?
We use premium brand hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers only. These are the safest dermal fillers available and have been extensively tested.

What results can I expect?
Immediately after the treatment, it is to be expected to see a little redness, lumpiness and very mild swelling around the injection site which can last a few days after treatment. Results can last up to 18 months following treatment, depending on how quickly your body breaks the product down. Maintenance treatments are recommended if you want to maintain the result.

Profhilo®

WHAT IS PROFHILO®?

Profhilo® is, quite simply, a game changer!  It is a revolutionary new product which provides an incredible and visible boost to tired, ageing and sagging skin by bio-remodelling. It has quite rightly been described as “one of the quickest and effective cosmetic fixes I have ever tried ” by respected beauty journalist Alice Hart Davis.

Profhilo is a unique injectable treatment that stimulates collagen synthesis and targets skin laxity as well as boosting the appearance of dull and lifeless skin. It also stimulates increased production of the body’s own hyaluronic acid (HA ) and elastin.

It is important to note that, although it is an injectable hyaluronic acid- based product, it is NOT a dermal filler. Its unique properties mean it not only boosts and hydrates the skin but also remodels sagging tissue without increasing volume.

The number of awards won by Profhilo® in recent years is a testament to its unique standing in the aesthetic market.

  • Best Injectable Product, The 2018 Aesthetic Industry Awards

  • 2016 Winner – Aesthetics Awards Product Innovation of the Year

  • 2016 Commendation – Aesthetics Awards Injectable Product of the Year

  • 2015 –  ‘Best Skin Enhancement Product’ at the 2015 AMEC Congress in Paris, France

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Profhilo®  is a hyaluronic acid gel which stimulates the body’s production of collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin  resulting in an improvement in skin laxity and an overall smoother, more youthful appearance.

WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?

To achieve the best and most long-lasting results, two injectable treatments are recommended with a four-week interval.  Profhilo® treatment is injected using a specialised technique called BAP (bio aesthetic points). This unique method ensures the best results whilst ensuring patient safety. Some people report results within the first week but the best outcomes will be visible one month after the second treatment.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT TO SEE?

Skin quality, texture and hydration should be visibly improved after Profhilo® treatment. Fine lines and wrinkles will be less visible and patients can expect increased skin firmness and elasticity lasting approximately six to eight months.

Viscoderm Hydrobooster

What is Viscoderm Hydrobooster?

Viscoderm Hydrobooster is an injectable Hyaluronic Acid product that has been formulated to improve the skin’s elasticity, hydration and radiance, it also smooths superficial fine lines and wrinkles caused by dynamic facial expression. It is not a filler it is what we call a skin booster.

Viscoderm Hydrobooster has two functions which both help to stretch superficial wrinkles in a natural way, resulting in its unique HYDROSTRETCH action.

Action one is deep hydration
Improving elasticity, radiance and smoothness of the skin.
Biorestructuring activity prolonged over time.

Action two is tissue restructuring
Stretching superficial wrinkles for those with moderate to advanced signs of ageing.
Particularly indicated for dynamic areas of the face around the eyes, mouth and forehead.

How many treatments are required ?

For best results possible from Viscoderm Hydrobooster treatments, most people need two separate treatments 8 weeks apart. However some people need only one treatment.

How long does Viscoderm Hydrobooster last ?

The results last about 6 months.

What to expect during a Viscoderm Hydrobooster

The full procedure can take between and hour and 90 minutes.
We will apply numbing cream for 40 minutes before your treatment commences.

The treatment itself involves multiple tiny injections and runs a high risk of developing small bruises.

The results can be seen as soon as 3 weeks after treatment but it takes 8 weeks to appreciate the full results. More than one session may be needed to achieve maximum results.

We will arrange a check up 6 to 8 weeks after your treatment and schedule your next treatment should you need it shortly after.

Is Viscoderm Hydrobooster Safe ?

Viscoderm Hydrobooster is a hyaluronic acid skin booster made by IBSA, the Italian company famous for manufacturing profhilo.
There products have a great safety record and can be dissolved should any adverse event occur.

Is Viscoderm Hydrobooster for me ?

We recommend viscoderm if your skin looks dull, dry and lacklustre and if fine lines and wrinkles have become more noticeable over the last few years especially around the mouth, eyes and forehead.

Redensity [I] Beauty Booster

The skin undergoes changes as we age and by age 35, our skin’s thickness has decreased by about 22%. Hyaluronic acid is present in the dermis and can retain up to 50% of its own weight in water. Loss of intrinsic hyaluronic acid as we age results in loss of skin elasticity and greater fragility.

We offer the Redensity [I] Beauty Booster.

Rendensity [I] requires three separate treatments administered 3 weeks apart.

What ingredients are in the Redensity [I] Beauty Booster?
Hyaluronic acid is used in dermal fillers to correct fine lines, enhance cheek shape and volume and restore volume to lips. In addition to hyaluronic acid which provides hydration, the Beauty Booster contains 3 antioxidants to protect the skin from free-radical damage – Glutathione, N-Acetyl-L-Cystine, and alpha-lipoic acid and 7 essential amino acids – leucine, isoleucine, valine, glycine, lysine, threonine and proline. Finally, it delivers a boost by way of vitamin B6, zinc and copper.

When and where should it be used?
A Skin Booster treatment can be used regularly as a core treatment to help prevent cutaneous ageing or as an alternative to complement other treatments. It is great to use on specific occasions to re-hydrate and to give a new glow to your skin. These treatments are suitable for the treatment of the face, neck, decolletage, and back of hands.

For optimum results it is recommended to follow the complete treatment plan:

– 3 sessions at 3-week intervals

– For maintenance treatment: 1 session 3 x year

Single treatment - £295

Course of 3 - £700 (recommended)

Sunekos

Ageing presents in many ways on the face and isn’t just limited to lines and wrinkles or a loss of elasticity to the skin. As we age, skin will lose tone, becoming dry and uneven in texture, perhaps feeling rough. Skin can also suffer from changes in pigmentation or photo-damage which creates uneven patches of skin colour, or age spots, as well as dark under-eye circles. Exposure to sun is partly to blame but genetics, lifestyle choices and the natural pathway of getting older all play a part.

This means that as well as addressing deeper lines and wrinkles with dermal fillers or relaxing dynamic wrinkles, such as frown lines or crow’s feet, with botulinum toxins to allow the skin to recover; it’s important to consider treatments which can help to restore the whole of the skin, rejuvenate and stimulate the building blocks of new skin.

One such treatment is Sunekos®.

Sunekos is a new cosmetic injectable product, which like other dermal filler ranges we use, contains hyaluronic acid. What makes Sunekos special is the patented formula of amino acids, which is added alongside the hyaluronic acid to create the injected product. This potent mix of amino acids which includes glycine, L-proline, L-leucine, L-lysine HCI, L-valine and L-alanine help to regenerate the Extra Cellular Matrix (ECM) – the building blocks which help to make the wall – by stimulating fibroblasts, or skin cells, to produce new collagen and elastin, repairing and rebuilding skin. This process is referred to as a dermal biogenesis, literally skin regeneration.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural component of our skin which draws in water to act as a natural moisturiser, keeping skin hydrated and plump, both of which are signs of youthful skin. HA is made by our bodies daily, but, as we age, we produce less natural HA and our skin suffers in appearance because of it. Amino acids are made by our bodies and are essential for the creation of healthy skin, acting as the precursors to the formation of new collagen and elastin.

Sunekos offers two different treatment options for skin regeneration, which can be performed separately or in combination – Sunekos 200 and Sunekos 1200.

Sunekos 200 contains a low molecular weight HA and Sunekos 1200 is a medium molecular weight HA. The former can be used alone to treat the face, neck, décolletage and hands and is great for younger people. If additional ‘cushioning’ is required in the case of lax, sagging skin or deeper lines and wrinkles, then the Sunekos 1200 can be combined to give extra scaffold support for the dermal biogenesis.

Clinical trials have shown that hyaluronic acid products on their own can cause biorevitalisation in the skin, stimulating fibroblasts, but the addition of the amino acids is like adding extra fuel to a fire, their presence stimulates and directly targets the ECM fibroblasts which is important when it comes to rebuilding the dermal layers of the skin. Participants in trials reported improvements in wrinkles, skin plumpness and hydration, as well as a lifting effect.

I recommend a course of three to four weekly treatments to achieve the best results with Sunekos 200, followed by a repeated course of treatments every six months. If extra support is required with Sunekos 1200, then this will be injected a few days before treatment commences with Sunekos 200. You will start to notice the effects of treatment after a week or so as skin begins to rejuvenate.
